Accomplishments

Aleksei Egorov debuted as a professional in 2016. He won his first (national) title in 2017, and moved up higher in the ranks two years later with a title win for the vacant IBF Cruiserweight title against former world champion Thomas Oosthuizen.

He fought three relatively unknown opponents over the next three years, managing to stop only one. In 2022 it was announced that he would fight Arsen Goulamirian for his WBA (super) world title in November. Though he seemed to take the earlier half of the bout, Egorov eventually lost by unanimous decision in his match with Goulamirian.

Following his loss to Goulamirian, Egorov returned in May of 2023 where he went on to stop fellow Russian Vladimir Zhigaylov in a matter of two rounds.

Boxing Style

Alexey Egorov is a sharp and cunning fighter that brings a number of diverse skills to the table. His best attribute seems to be his ring intelligence which often culminates in him outsmarting or trapping his opponent. He is dangerous from the outside and inside, and seems to be very adapatable in the thick of a fight, especially with his ability to fight off the back foot.
