Accomplishments

Otto Wallin became a professional in 2013. He progressively built experience while developing his skillset, remaining unbeaten for years. In 2017, Wallin won his first title (WBA Continental heavyweight), followed by another two titles in his next match in 2018.

In 2019, Otto Wallin would face Tyson Fury as a tune-up opponent. Despite coming in as the heavy underdog, Wallin put up a valiant effort in their fight, managing to push the British heavyweight to twelve rounds while also managing to score a cut on Fury’s forehead. He eventually did lose the bout by UD, but he managed to put the rest of the heavyweight division on notice with his performance.

Wallin continued to perform well afterwards, going on an unbeaten winning streak. He beat respected competitor Dominic Breazeale soundly by unanimous decision in 2021. In 2022 he scored another solid victory against another veteran in Rydell Booker, also winning by UD.

Boxing Style

otto wallin boxing style

A Southpaw, Otto Wallin is known for having a balanced skillset who can employ a different style depending on the opponent he’s fighting. Against Dominic Breazeale he adopted a more cautious approach where he relied on his boxing skills for example, but against Tyson Fury – following the Brit suffering a cut on the forehead – he would push the tempo more and display his proficiency at fighting on the inside. Against Travis Kauffman – a fighter in the heavyweight divisions known to make every fight with his opponent hard –  he managed to keep the American at bay with his effective jabs and by using his boxing IQ, displaying his varied skillset once more.
