The initiation of the first couple of press conferences to officially promote the Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia blockbuster fight has already become an exciting spectacle. During the second press conference between the two, held at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California on the 9th of March, Davis notably kicked off the event in stupendous fashion.

In amidst of a face-off between the two young fighters, Gervonta Davis (28-0, 26 KO’s) can be seen looking away while throwing a left hook that slightly grazed Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KO’s). With the two having engaged in multiple bouts on social media, the press conference was the first time we have seen these two go at each other in person.

A lot of words were exchanged between the two, with the first press conference in New York notably having been much more respectful than the presser in California. Both Davis and Garcia noticeably had a lot to say to each other during the build-up of their chart-topping April 22nd fight.

In the previous press conference, Garcia sounded off on the rehydration clauses that were forced on him during negotiations and the lengths he had to go through to secure the Davis fight, including him not taking a tune-up fight. In the most recent press conference, Garcia and Davis were engaged in a heated conversation that saw them discredit each other’s skills, achievements and opponents.

You like to fight guys that don’t hit hard.” Ryan Garcia stated. “But guess what, I do hit hard. And when I hit you with that left hook,.. when I hit you with it you’re on the floor. Sleep! Good night!

Gervonta Davis had his own set of retorts ready: “You’re not a complete fighter. You don’t have footwork. You don’t have (ring) IQ. You don’t have anything.

Ryan Garcia further articulated how his right hand was lethal which Gervonta Davis dismissed. The two continued their back and forth for the next couple of minutes or so, and in the face-off that followed the two got into a physical confrontation that ended with Gervonta Davis ‘checking’ Ryan Garcia with a soft left hook.

Their latest display in front of worldwide media has surely driven interest towards the fight which will only continue to be promoted. The next most significant press conference will occur on the week of April 22nd, several days before the fight, as the two will enter their training camp approximately next week.

In the meantime, their sure-to-be epic fight will continue to be heavily marked and promoted, signifying the importance of this match-up which involves two young American superstars in the prime of their career, risking it all to settle a longrunning rivalry and prove themselves to be one of the best fighters of their generation.
