Puerto Rican IBF super lightweight champion Subriel Matias will defend his title for the first time on November 25th against Uzbek fighter Shohjahon Ergashev, an unbeaten contender ready to claim a world title. The bout is set to take place on the undercard of the main event between David Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.

Subriel Matias (19-1, 19 KO’s) secured the IBF super lightweight title in February this year by stopping Argentinian opponent Jeremias Ponce (31-1, 21 KO’s) to win the vacant IBF belt. Matias currently holds a 100% KO record, a streak he aims to maintain against the talented Shohjahon Ergashev (23-0, 20 KO’s).

The two fighters appear well-matched, setting the stage for a 50-50 fight with an unpredictable outcome. Both fighters possess significant power in their punches, and their past performances showcase their skills.

In terms of resumes, Matias has a slight edge, having defeated several undefeated fighters, suggesting he may overcome a similarly unbeaten opponent in Ergashev, whose notable opponent has been American contender Mykal Fox (22-4, 5 KO’s).

However, Ergashev is no newcomer to the sport, displaying the necessary ability to emerge victorious as a champion. Alternatively, a draw between the two is also a likely outcome, though it is preferable that their bout concludes with a satisfying victory for either fighter.
