Background

As an amateur, Ali Eren Demirezen fought in prominent tournaments such as the Mediterranean Games, the AIBA World Boxing Championships and the European Amateur Boxing Championships, while facing the likes of Joe Joyce, Filip Hrgović and Tony Yoka. He gave a good account of himself in the amateur ranks, regularly succeeding in reaching the finals of various competitions, yet that also culminated in him receiving a fair amount of losses.

He had over 50 fights as a senior amateur and amassed roughly a more than a dozen losses. His professional career started in 2016.

Despite suffering a UD loss in a close-knit fight against Nigerian competitor Efe Ajagba in 2019, Ali Eren Demirezen has made a positive impression in as a heavyweight with his winning streak. His most impressive victory was one over former WBC world heavyweight challenger Gerald Washington when he beat him by stoppage in the 8th round in 2022. Demirezen has so far earned the WBO European heavyweight title twice over the course of his career.
