As predicted, plans from DAZN to introduce a new package for subscribers have been introduced and will not feature regular subscribers gaining free access to PPVs ― unlike what had been promised for DAZN’s customers starting November with expectations of the PPV model being abandoned entirely.

DAZN Ultimate has been presented as the ideal package for subscribers to not only gain access to all non-PPV fights ― and other sports under certain limitations ― but also access to every PPV fight broadcasted by DAZN.

As an annual-only option alongside other subscription plans, DAZN Ultimate does appear to be a cost-efficient alternative for fight fans to watch with prices in the UK amounting to £249.99 per year [£24.99/Month] starting December; the same price as a monthly subscription of £24.99 per month.

Prices in the US differ slightly, as with some other countries, with DAZN Ultimate set to cost $449.99 per year [$49.99/Month] ― contrasting the monthly subscription of US customers paying $29.99 per month.

Despite DAZN Ultimate being just an alternative and cheaper means to access PPVs that does not actually eliminate the PPV model [PPVs will still be sold separately for regular DAZN subscribers], it is a refreshing addition with customers having had to pay for individual PPVs on top of already paying for a subscription ― as no option to buy PPVs without subscribing was possible.

Possibly, this new plan could see the rise of more PPV-worthy fights with the expectation of at least one being held per month based on DAZN promising a minimum of 12 PPV fights in this package. Further options in the package includes the ability to download events, replays other sports matches such as football, and access to weekly news shows, pressers and other behind-the-scenes happenings.

The extra options in particular seems to have been an idea from Turki Alalshikh that has been implemented after the Saudi chairman presented several of these options when detailing DAZN Ultimate’s package plan prior to its official launch and naming.

Whether DAZN Ultimate will remain as affordable as it is now is questionable with DAZN having already hiked regular subscription prices in the past ― suggesting it is entirely possible the current annual rate of £249.99 to be altered by next year.
