Accomplishments

Boosted by his renowned amateur career, Dmitry Bivol proved to be above the level of his peers in the Light-Heavyweight division as he moved up the ranks rapidly following a string of dominating victories over his opponents.

His first title win (WBC-USNBC Silver) came in 2015 in his fourth match – just a year after making his debut – and after collecting another international title in his next match, he soon found himself at the cusp of a world title when he won the interim WBA world title in 2016. By 2017 he was promoted to regular champion status before finally becoming a super champion in 2019.

Bivol continued to defend his world title for the next three years, comfortably scoring mostly unanimous decision victories over his opponents while facing strong contenders such as
Craig Richards, Joe Smith Jr.  and Umar Salamov.

In the summer of 2022, Bivol faced Canelo Álvarez – multi-weight and undisputed Super Middleweight champion – in what would become a comfortable unanimous decision victory for him.

On November 5th, Dmitry Bivol faced Light-Heavyweight contender Gilberto Ramirez in a successful defense of his WBA title by winning through a unanimous decision.
