Conor Benn, who has been embroiled in a case of for potential steroid use since October of last year, put up a self-encouraging message on social media which prompted a mocking response by Chris Eubank Jr.

“Been through hell and back. Thank God for science. The evidence doesn’t lie. No holes in the truth.” The message stated, posted on Conor Benn’s Instagram account.

“I’m pretty sure it was science that detected the illegal substances in your system on two separate occasions Conor. So yes absolutely thank god for science… otherwise I would of been fighting the hulk a few months ago!!” Chris Eubank Jr. (32-2, 23 KO’s) responded on his Twitter account.

Though Conor Benn (21-0, 14 KO’s) has previously professed his innocence on several occasions in the near past, it is still unclear as to whether he actually used PED’s or not. Neither VADA or UKAD have indicated any progress in their investigation.

Due to a technicality where Benn can fight overseas without necessarily having a British boxing license, Benn is eligible to fight in WBC-sanctioned fight. In one of his last social media messages, Benn seemed expectant of the WBC to rule that he is allowed to fight in sanctioned by them, and expressed his impatience at the WBC allegedly taking too long to make a ruling.

However, WBC president, Mauricio Suleiman, has refuted any claims made by Benn’s team of “stalling” the ruling that will confirm and allow Benn to fight in fights sanctioned by the organization.

“We received a document from his team, which I mentioned publicly (are) 260 pages, and within that document there are many matters that need further investigation and action. So this is nothing that can simply be resolved by sympathy or by saying X, Y, or Z. You have to go into the facts, because there are legal implications as well, so we will have to take all the time necessary.” Mauricio explained during an interview with Thaboxingvoice.

“To give you an example, we received that document, we sent back a letter to the lawyers and it took three weeks for them to respond.” Mauricio continued. “It is not that we have stalled the case; we are actively working on it and just following the protocol.”

Suleiman also addressed the alleged rumors that VADA contaminated Conor Benn’s drug test samples.

“That’s something I can not respond (to), because it has the legal implications that I referred to. That’s why a complete investigation has to take place, and anything I say would be simply speculation.” He responded to the question on whether there was any substance to the rumors of Benn’s samples having been contaminated.

The apparent rumor of VADA having contaminated Benn’s drug samples has not been covered by our editing team because we have found no validity whatsoever to these claims.
