Franchon Crews-Dezurn and Savannah Marshall will be pitted against one another as the co-main event of the fight card that where Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr. will headline. The event will be held at the Manchester Arena (in Manchester) on June 17th.
Following Savannah Marshall’s (12-1, 10 KO’s) October 15 loss to the current undisputed champion of the women’s Middleweight division, Claressa Shields (13-0, 2 KO’s), Marshall will face another opportunity to become undisputed when she faces Franchon Crews-Dezurn (8-1, 2 KO’s) on June 17th. For this fight, Marshall will be moving up a weight class to participate at 168 lbs again since making her debut in the same division in 2017.
Savannah Marshall’s last match at Super Middleweight was in 2019 when she defeated her opponent Ashleigh Curry (8-14-4, 1 KO’s) by technical knockout, whereafter she moved down to Middleweight where she would go on to become the WBO world champion of the division ― before losing it to Claressa Shields in a unification bout.

Both fighters can thank Claressa Shields for their first-time career losses, with Franchon Crews suffering her loss after her co-debut into the professional ranks with Shields. She has since then only won, impressively capturing her first world title (WBC Super Middleweight) in just her fifth match against Maricela Cornejo (16-5, 6 KO’s) in 2018, who she would later rematch two fights later in 2019 where she again proved to be successful and simultaneously earning her the WBO Super Middleweight title that had been vacant and available for their fight.
Crews went on to unify in her last match against then-WBA and IBF Super Middleweight champion Elin Cederroos (8-2, 4 KO’s) in April of 2022, becoming undisputed in the process. Despite Franchon Crews’ solid pedigree, Savannah Marshall’s power and developing boxing skills pose a clear threat to her reign as the undisputed champion.
Savannah Marshall is currently also already regarded as the best female Super Middleweight on the planet (according to BoxRec) since announcing to move up to 168 pounds, indicating that Franchon Crews may face an uphill battle and perhaps her toughest challenge yet since facing an unseasoned Claressa Shields that was making her debut.
Additionally, the two have familiar history stemming back to the amateur ranks when Savannah Marshall came out on top by a four-round points victory against Franchon Crews in 2012 in the semi-finals of a test run tournament in preparation for the 2012 London Olympics.
