Background

Jack Massey fought a total of 53 fights, losing eight times. While not winning any important silverware during this period, he faced several prospects who would go on to become champions or high-ranked contenders, such as Joshua Buatsi and Chris Billam-Smith. He competed in prestigious tournaments such as the Commonwealth Youth Games, the ABA, and he also participated with Team Great Britain several times for the Olympic boxing trials. [1]

Accomplishments

Jack Massey worked his way up the rankings upon making his professional debut in 2013. After 6 years of grinding through the division – winning several non-world titles in the process, Massey was matched with fellow British prospect Richard Riakporhe for the British Cruiserweight title.

Though he gave a strong account of himself, Massey eventually lost out to Riakporhe by a unanimous decision in a twelve-round fight. Since his loss, he has gone on a winning streak and also managed to grab the IBO world title (though this title is not acknowledged as being on the same level as that of the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF).

In January of 2023, Jack Massey suffered his second professional career loss to Joseph Parker who he fought at Heavyweight.

Massey returned a year later in January of 2024 where he recorded a 1st-round knockout over Belgium opponent Steve Eloundou Ntere.
