American heavyweight Jarrell Miller has drawn plenty of controversy for the past half decade, and despite recently claiming he was turning over a new leaf following his conversion to Islam in Saudi Arabia prior to his December 23 match against Daniel Dubois, Miller has found himself in trouble once more after being arrested for allegedly stealing a truck in Hollywood and assaulting, as well as robbing, an employee.

The incident that lead to Jarrell Miller’s (26-1-1, 22 KO’s) arrest occurred on Tuesday at Haims Motors―a car dealership in Hollywood, Florida. The victim alleged that a woman had claimed she had left her cellphone in a truck that was repossessed; the same truck that Miller would later end up stealing. As the employee went to grab the keys from the truck, the employee was allegedly assaulted by Miler by being put in a chokehold.

The victim further claimed that Miller demanded the keys―that the employee was already attempting to get―before slamming him onto the ground and forcibly grabbing the keys himself fleeing with the truck. As the truck had trackers in it, the Miller and the truck were quickly found by the police and the American heavyweight was subsequently arrested.

Miller appeared in bond court the next day where he faced charges of carjacking without a weapon, and burglary with assault, by the prosecutors. He is said to currently still remain in Broward County jail with his case to be fully handled at a later date.

Court records and statements from the victim also point to an accomplice in Miller’s crime, speculatively the woman who appeared to distract the employee of the car dealership while asking for the truck’s car keys, but no apparent charges have been directed towards the suspected accomplice, This incident may have been sparked by Haim Motors’ repossession of the vehicle that belonged to the woman, which may have led to Miller―who appears to be familiar with her―attempting to retake the truck in what eventually turned into a criminal act of carjacking.

Miller, 35, last fought on December 23 where he suffered a technical knockout loss to British heavyweight contender Daniel Dubois (20-2, 19 KO’s). More notably, Miller converted to Islam in the days prior to his match and had vowed to change his stripes after alleged criminal ties―having alluded to this himself several times in the past―and at least two known cases of steroid abuse in professional boxing.
