Matchroom and DAZN have announced an extension of their broadcast deals in the USA and Mexico which will see them continue to showcase fights until 2026. Despite DAZN already having seized over 200 countries when it comes to broadcasting, the company’s extension with the two aforementioned countries will see them retain a vital foothold in the Western Hemisphere when it comes to airing boxing, and other sports.

While Matchroom has focused on a variety of sports, boxing has built the foundation of the current company and is still held up as the primary sport through which DAZN and Matchroom are intricately linked. The deals that was extended will therefore center around boxing and continue broadcasting marquee fights.

With Matchroom and DAZN having seen a decent amount of success since first launching their first broadcasted boxing match in October of 2018 when Jessie Vargas faced Thomas Dulorne in Chicago, both companies hope to continue produce the best possible matches for the next couple of years.

Key to this success have been the unification, undisputed and championship bouts held throughout the past five years which also saw a number of Matchroom (or Matchroom-affiliated) boxers grow into global recognition due to their performances; including the likes of Katie Taylor, Dmitry Bivol and Alycia Baumgardner. Other boxers who already had a clear presence on the world stage (e.g. Anthony Joshua, Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin) helped Matchroom and DAZN grow their brands even further.

Since its first broadcast in 2018, DAZN has continued to delve into other sports ― some a courtesy of Matchroom’s own diversified programme of sports ― but boxing has continued to remain one of its most lucrative and essential products worldwide.

Eddie Hearn also expressed his excitement for what lay ahead following the news of the three-year extension of DAZN’s broadcast deals in the USA and Mexico.

I am delighted to announce this extension to our deal with DAZN in the US and Mexico.” Hearn said in Matchroom’s official press statement.

This new deal means more Undisputed, Unified and World title blockbusters, more 50-50 wars with the top contenders and more showcasing the best rising talent in the region, and we’re ready to provide further thrilling action and value for the DAZN subscribers.

Joe Markowski, CEO of DAZN’s operations in North America, mirrored Hearn’s sentiment.

We are delighted to be extending our relationship with Matchroom Boxing in the US.” Joseph Markowski said. “Since we entered the market five years ago, we have made significant strides to become the global home of boxing, consistently delivering the best schedule in market.

2023 will be no different, with the biggest names fighting on the biggest stages in the coming months. With our best-in-class broadcast, matched with Matchroom’s best-in-class promotion, we are incredibly excited about expanding our partnership in the years to come.” The North America DAZN Group CEO promised.
