Undefeated Hall of Fame boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather Jr., has continued with his exhibition extravaganza and is now set to face ex-Geordie Shore star, Aaron Chalmers, in an exhibition bout on February 25 at the O2 Arena.
Though new to the sport of boxing, Chalmers has had at least three years experience fighting in BAMMA and Bellator from 2017 to 2020. He retired from MMA in 2021, but has – as of recently – seemed to venture into professional boxing. Chalmers currently boasts a record of 1-0 in professional boxing, after making his pro debut in June of 2022.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. has not been inactive in retirement himself. His last exhibition fight was against YouTuber Deji Olatuni, and in the same year he had two exhibition bouts against Don Moore – a former sparring partner of his, who last fought professionally in 2016 – and Mikuru Asakura, a professional MMA fighter who competes for Rizin.
With Aaron Chalmers set to be Mayweather’s next exhibition opponent in this new year, both will likely rake in millions for such an event in gate receipts and television-related income given the stature of thre two outside, and in the sport. Though Chalmers may be less known outside of the UK – and overall compared to Mayweather, given the fight is held in London at the O2 Arena, there will be plenty of eyes on this fight, even with it being an exhibition bout.
