Background
As a senior amateur, Cieślak wasn’t much of a standout fighter. In 2013 he entered the World Series of Boxing tournament where he failed to impress when he lost in his first match. Later that same year he turned professional.
Accomplishments
Michal Cieslak became a professional in 2013 and proved to be a talented competitor when he went on a comfortable unbeaten winning streak. His first title came in 2015 when he won the Republic of Poland Youth International Cruiserweight title.
He fought on December 2016 for the IBF Baltic Cruiserweight title but despite Cieslak winning, the bout was officially ruled a no-contest after both fighters failed their drug test.
In 2019, he fought for the Republic of Poland International Cruiserweight title again against Olanrewaju Durodola and managed to stop his opponent in just the second round.
A year later in 2020, Cieslak challenged for the vacant WBC World Cruiserweight title against Ilunga Makabu but was beaten by unanimous decision.
After failing to secure a world title, MichalCieslak picked up his form again with two TKO wins in a row. Ultimately however, he lost once more in 2022 to Lawrence Okolie in a hard-fought but decisive UD loss.
Boxing Style
Michal Cieslak is a combination puncher with underrated power and a vicious right hand that has netted him a high KO percentage of 71%. He’s also adept at being evasive and is known to have decent footwork along with quick hands.
