The upcoming title bout set for October 19 between Russian IBF super welterweight champion Bakhram Murtazaliev and Australian challenger Tim Tszyu will not be a pay-per-view (PPV) event according to Premier Boxing Champions (PBC). This will mark the first non-PPV event the PBC will hold this year, and signifies a new agreement struck between Prime Video and PBC since the announcement of their first PPV-centered deal last year.

PBC’s deal with Prime Video strongly indicated PBC’s shows would be solely televised through PPV’s rather than regular television programming. Some contemporaries in boxing had criticized this PPV-only deal, remarking that it would heavily stifle many PBC-aligned fighters [through TGB Promotions] from being active.

However, a recent press release from PBC centering around the upcoming fight between Bakhram Murtazaliev (22-0, 16 KO’s) and Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KO’s) reveals that the October 19 card will be making its non-PPV debut through Prime Video on the inaugural PBC Championship Boxing on Prime Video show.

As Prime Video is a streaming service, that means those subscripted to the Prime will be able to view the upcoming boxing card without needing to pay extra. Prior to this, all of PBC’s past events were only available through PPV, forcing even Prime subscribers to pay the same as non-subscribers to follow PBC’s shows.

Notably, the fact this development has only been mentioned and not officially announced could indicate this is not a permanent agreement that will count for other PBC shows. While the press release state the PBC Championship Boxing on Prime Video program would be the first, it neglected to mention whether more would follow in the foreseeable future.
