Background
Noel Gevor became a professional in 2011 after racking up around sixty-five fights [1]. He didn’t accomplish much of note but gathered the experience and skills needed to sustain a professional boxing career.
Accomplishments
Debuting as a Cruiserweight, Noel Gevor went on to show his talent and went on an impressive winning run. He won his first title (WBO Youth) in 2014. In 2016, he won the WBO International title, and in 2018 – after facing a minor setback split-decision loss in 2017 – he faced one of the top Cruiserweights in boxing history, Mairis Briedis, in a match he ended up losing by unanimous decision.
Showing an amazing ability to bounce back, Gevor challenged and won the WBC International title just two matches after his loss to Briedis.
On November 4th in 2023, Gevor faced Ilunga Makabu for the vacant WBC cruiserweight title and where he netted a stupendous stoppage victory over the former world champion in just the third round of their match.
Boxing Style
Known to use both his size and reach when possible, Noel Gevor accumulated a balanced set of offensive and defensive skills that has put him in the top rankings for a world title. While not the quickest or most powerful puncher, Gevor is adept at counterpunching and regularly uses feints and erratic movements to trick his opponents into making costly mistakes.
