Queensberry Promotions has taken a significant leap in its company’s history as the British-based promotional outfit is set to join the DAZN streaming service come April, 2025. The upcoming partnership will see Queensberry tied to DAZN in a multi-year deal which will see all of the promotion’s fights exclusively broadcasted on the streaming service.
DAZN is currently boxing’s most prevalent streaming platform with multiple well-known promotions tied to it including Matchroom Boxing and Golden Boy Promotions. Aside from boxing, which DAZN incorporated in its programming in 2018 through Matchroom, it further streams several other sports in selected countries―most prominently association football, baseball and basketball.
Other combat sports tied to DAZN includes mixed martial arts (MMA) which has seen promotional outfits Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Professional Fighters League (PFL) and Bellator MMA selectively join with the platform.
As such, Queensberry Promotions, headed by Frank Warren, joins an esteemed and established network with the aim to continue to expand Queensberry’s reach and popularity across the globe.
“I’m as competitive as my fighters and I fight for my fighters,” said Warren in an official statement. “I’m always looking for the next challenge and I know there’s one there now.
“This is a company [DAZN] devoted to boxing. They have a worldwide platform and for us―that is very important to do, what Queensberry is doing to be expanding and building, working together for the betterment of boxing as I believe it will be.“
The inclusion of Queensberry Promotions to DAZN’s roster of promoters might be related to Riyadh Season whose ties with the streaming platform has seen every single one of its boxing events featured on DAZN, oftentimes exclusively. This relationship was further cemented just last month when DAZN and Riyadh Season when the two struck a major media deal that will see DAZN used as the primary broadcaster for Riyadh Season-sponsored boxing shows.
The likelihood of more fights between Matchroom and Queensberry occurring, best encapsulated by the June 1st “5 vs. 5” event that saw the two promotions pit their fighters against each other, has now vastly increased with Queensberry’s upcoming multi-year venture with DAZN. A second version of the “Matchroom vs. Queensberry” event now appears more likely following Queensberry Promotion’s recent move.
Unknown is how this new partnership will affect the agreement Queensberry Promotions has in place with Top Rank which saw Tyson Fury’s fights broadcasted on the American-based network of ESPN. As the deal between Queensberry and DAZN has been identified to be exclusive, it is likely this arrangement with ESPN will sever following April of 2025.
The new deal also gives Queensberry the means to arrange fights with the plethora of other promotions attached to DAZN, not excluding Golden Boy which currently holds several reputable fighters on its roster including American undisputed women’s flyweight (112 lbs) champion Gabriela Fundora, and Mexican #1 lightweight (135 lbs) contender William Zepeda.
Queensberry is currently home to the only other heavyweight (200+ lbs) world champion in existence, British stalwart Daniel Dubois who holds the IBF. Former WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury―also British, is further set to face Ukrainian unified [WBA, WBC & WBO] heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on December 12 for his titles.
