Though a specific venue and date have yet to be confirmed for May, Turki Alalshikh has acknowledged that Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia and Martin Bakole will be competing in a Riyadh Season card set to be held in the United States. The card is expected to be another super card given the presence of the aforementioned fighters who are currently one of the most recognizable boxers in the sport.
General Entertainment Authority (GEA) chairman and Riyadh Season organizer Turki Alalshikh confirmed yesterday the card would be held in the United States in May:
“The Ring Magazine is excited to announce its first boxing card in USA this May 2025 in collaboration with the video game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves (which the card will be named after) and SNK Games,” Alalshikh stated yesterday in his post on social media.
“The card includes three fights: Ryan Garcia vs Rolando Romero, Devin Haney vs Jose Carlos Ramirez Martin Bakole vs Efe Ajagba. Further details about venue and exact date will be announced later, stay tuned.“
Interestingly, The Ring Boxing Magazine now appears to be used as a clear instrument for Riyadh Season to either promote or announce its upcoming fights, signaling a new course for The Ring to become the primary source for official boxing announcements.
Facing Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KO’s), Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KO’s) and Martin Bakole (21-1, 16 KO’s) respectively will be Jose Carlos Ramirez (29-2, 18 KO’s), Rolando “Rolly” Romero (16-2, 13 KO’s) and Efe Ajagba (20-1, 14 KO’s), with both Haney and Garcia expected to compete at super lightweight (140 lbs) and their upcoming bouts set to be stepping stones to allow them to compete against each other later this year.
The fight between Martin Bakole and Efe Ajagba will be held at heavyweight (200+ lbs) and will see arguably two of the best heavyweights out of the continent of Africa compete against each other in what is expected to be a fireworks of a match.
The inclusion of Ryan Garcia on the upcoming May card further confirms the overall policy of Riyadh Season to ignore past offenses made by the fighter which includes a track record of deceit and use of performance-enhancing drugs, and a display of bigotry that has clearly been ignored. Garcia is currently still facing an indefinite suspension by the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) for his use of PED’s last year.

Aside from Garcia, Martin Bakole also has some controversies to his own name, with an explicit video featuring the abuse of underage persons having been shared by the Congolese fighter in 2020. Bakole has since offered an apology for sharing the video, clarifying that he had only been seeking to expose the abusers implicated in the video.
Devin Haney will be making his return to the ring following his now-overturned April bout against Garcia, dispelling prior rumors that he would participate on a BLK Prime card instead. With Garcia set to face Romero, both Haney and Garcia coming out on top would allow the two to engage in a pivotal rematch that is rumored to take place in October of this year.
