American unified super welterweight (154 lbs) champion Sebastian Fundora (22-1, 14 KO’s) retained his titles in a victory over countryman Chordale Booker (23-2, 11 KO’s). The two headlined a Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) card at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 22nd, 2025.
Appearing as PBC’s first non-PPV broadcast this year, the main event between Fundora and Booker lasted but 4 rounds out of the total designated 12 rounds of their title fight as the former netted a technical knockout (TKO) victory in exciting fashion.
Following an absence from the ring of approximately a year due to constant attempts to face Errol Spence Jr. ― which eventually did not amount to an actual bout, Fundora appeared fresh in his return to the ring against Booker.
In the 1st round, a sign of the match heading in Fundora’s favor seemed prevalent when Booker was shown to have issues with Fundora’s jab ― a result of Fundora’s higher-than-average reach and height. Throughout the fight, Sebastian Fundora opted for a front foot approach where he continuously pressured Chordale Booker into retreating, thereby imposing his size on the smaller American.
While Chordale Booker did appear to be a threat up close, an insufficient work rate and lack of power did not allow Sebastian Fundora to back down from pressuring him, resulting in Booker failing to make a sizeable impact to steal any of the rounds.
Sebastian Fundora was further the more active fighter, and in combination with his size had Chordale Booker at a sharp disadvantage which showed in the 4th round as he suffered a bleeding nose. During the closing minute of the round, a left hook to the temple from Fundora scrambled Booker’s senses, and after several combinations that ended with an uppercut, the unified 154-pound champion dropped Booker for the first time in his career ― though the knockdown is disputed given Fundora was seen shoving Booker prior to his fall.
Booker managed to beat the referee’s count of 10 to continue fighting but did not last long afterwards, again becoming damaged in the 11th second and dropped for the second time, which forced the referee to intervene. The result afterwards confirmed Fundora as the winner by TKO, marking his first victory since he defeated Tim Tszyu last year to become a unified champion.
Following his win, Sebastian Fundora will now be pressed to go into action soon as an outstanding order from the WBO for him to face new WBO mandatory challenger Xander Zayas has been initiated.
Undercard fights:
The PBC undercard’s most prevalent match was a 10-round fight between American middleweight (160 lbs) contenders Elijah Garcia (17-1, 13 KO’s) and Terrell Gausha (24-5-1, 12 KO’s).
The match swung in Gausha’s favor early as he knocked down Garcia in just the 1st round, which ultimately seemed to have been disregarded by the judges in the end result. The two were not evenly-matched for the most part, with several clear moments distinguishing Gausha as the rightful winner.
As CompuBox’s punch stats would point out, Gausha was clearly the more accurate fighter, throwing less overall but causing more damage with his landed blows ― as became evident when Garcia suffered from nose bleeding during the latter stage of the fight.

Garcia’s own accuracy seemed foiled by Gausha’s solid defense, making for an extremely difficult match-up for Garcia as Gausha’s offense clearly slipped through his guard numerous times.
Despite Gausha having performed well enough to net a victory, the judges scored the fight in favor of Elijah Garcia with scores of 95-94, 96-93 and 94-95, culminating in a split-decision (SD) victory for Garcia. None of the scorecards seemed particularly accurate, failing to acknowledge Gausha’s efficiency and seemingly basing Garcia’s victory on his output ― with Garcia throwing around 200 more punches than Gausha in total.
