Accomplishments

Felix Alvarado was known as a lethal finisher from the onset of his career in the Junior Flyweight division. His earlier career was filled with domestic or continental opponents who he often fought in his home country. He remained unbeaten for three years until he met future multi-weight wold champion Kazuto Ioka while challenging Ioka for his WBA (regular) world belt. Felix Alvarado lost in his fight with Ioka by unanimous decision.

In his next match in 2014 against Juan Carlos Reveco, Alvarado lost by the same result as he did with Ioka, suffering another twelve-round UD loss. Despite his two losses, Alvarado seemed undetterred as he launched on an unprecedented undefeated winning streak, exceeding his total amount of successive wins by twenty as opposed to his eighteen-match winning run before his match with Kazuto Ioka.

In 2018, Felix Alvarado became a world champion for the first time of his career after routing opponent Randy Petalcorin successfully by TKO. He has defended his title twice thus far, and has thereafter moved up to Flyweight

In November of 2022, he faced Sunny Edwards for his IBF Flyweight title. Felix Alvarado couldn’t make an impact in his fight with Edwards and eventually fell to a unanimous decision loss to the Brit.

Alvarado returned to the ring on June 10th (coincidentally the same date Edwards fought) and recorded another stoppage win on his record.

Boxing Style

felix alvarado boxing style

An orthodox fighter, Felix Alvarado looks to swarm his opponents every chance he gets with furious hooks that has helped him gain a high stoppage percentage throughout his career. As he is always looking to step on to the front foot and fight aggressively, Alvarado has built himself up to be one of the toughest fighters in his weight class and he has yet proved to be capable of being knocked down ina career that’s spanned for over a decade.

As he likes to pressure his opponent, Alvarado has also built up his stamina to be able to sustain high work rate throughout the majority of his fights.
