The Katie Taylor vs. Chantelle Cameron fight card has ramped up excitement following the latest announcement of Terri Harper and Cecilia Brækhus fighting on the event’s undercard. With the main event expected to become one of the most pivotal events in Dublin this year, it seems that the matchmakers are intent on also making the best fight card possible on May 20th.

Terri Harper (13-1-1, 6 KO’s) is now set to defend her title for the first time against Cecilia Brækhus (37-2, 9 KO’s). Harper currently holds the WBA women’s Super Welterweight title after beating Hannah Rankin (13-6, 3 KO’s) in just her second fight at the 154 pounds limit. Since her many battles as a Lightweight, Terri Harper has set her intent to take over the 154 lbs division and is on good course to unify with the division’s only other champion who has unified the other titles in fellow Brit, Natasha Jonas (13-2-1, 8 KO’s).

Cecilia Brækhus is known as the first female to become undisputed in the current four-belt era, but found herself on the brink of retirement after two losses against Jessica McCaskill (12-3, 5 KO’s) – the first in which she lost all her titles. Brækhus has now moved up from 147 lbs to try her luck at Super Welterweight which is no less competitive than the division she was in before. Notably, it was likely her status in the sport that granted her this quick world title opportunity given she only had one fight at 154 lbs against an opponent with a 50-50 record.

Despite Brækhus’s rather spontaneous jump up from virtually nowhere to becoming an instant contender, she is much more than a simple test for Harper given her skills and experience, and seems to have every chance of actually winning. Terri Harper will face a momentous challenge in Brækhus, but at the same time she will receive just as big of a shot to seal her name as one of the best British female fighters, and a worthy champion, by defeating the sure-fire future Hall of Famer, Cecilia Brækhus.
