Following Eddie Hearn’s – CEO of Matchroom Sport – interview on DAZN where he was asked on his thoughts on the upcoming Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions – Leonard Ellerbe – lashed out ferociously on Twitter against Hearn.

“The one dangerous thing about Gervonta Davis is, I don’t think that sort of stuff ever affects him, really. Like any normal human being, having gone through what he has went through in the last couple of weeks, probably would’ve just called the fight off, firstly, because he’s making weight and then obviously most people would just go off the boil and just eat something, and then like, just implode.” Hearn started, referencing the spin of news cycles where Davis was alleged to have violently beat on his girlfriend.

“But the dangerous thing about Gervonta Davis is, he’s not a deep thinker, you know. He’s not an articulate young man, you know, he’s a bad kid. I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way. I’m talking about this is a kid, he’s a bad motherf***er. Alright? Just like Mike Tyson was, just like some of these other greats were, and that makes them very, very dangerous, because they’re fearless, and you can’t get in his head.” Hearn continued during his interview on the DAZN Boxing Show.

Both Gervonta Davis (28-0, 26 KO’s) and Leonard Ellerbe took offense to Hearn’s comment and responded on social media, based on a Tweet by boxing editor Michael Benson who condensed the above comments by Hearn.

“Not a deep thinker and not articulate made me “not” sign that bulls*** a** offer he sent.” Davis responded on his Twitter account.

Leonard Ellerby fueled the flames of the conflict with wild accusations against Hearn that painted the Matchroom CEO as a racist.

“You did mean that in a disrespectful way with your privileged racist ass. Who the f*** (do) you think you are, saying he’s not deep thinker or not articulate? That’s the problem, motherf******s like you think you are more superior than others. We don’t play that shit over here you fu***** clown.” Ellerbe responded furiously on his own Twitter account.

This is not the first time that Leonard Ellerbe and Eddie Hearn have clashed. The two CEO’s have had long conflicting battles due to their positions as rival promoters. They have gone back and forth multiple times over the past decade or so, and have made it clear that they don’t respect each other whatsoever.
