Positive news arrived today for boxing star Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis who was recently arrested and released from jail. His girlfriend, Vanessa Posso, released a pivotal Instagram post where she set the record straight regarding the allegations of domestic abuse or violence.

“While the emotions were running high I made an unnecessary call to law enforcement in an intense moment while I was frantic.” Posso explained in her post. “Gervonta did not harm me or our daughter.”

“Today, we have sought the help necessary to move forward with our lives.” The post continued. “I am confident that we will succeed within our co-parenting dynamic with the counseling provided to us.”

Though it is unclear whether the message will completely absolve Gervonta Davis in the eye of the law. Based on recent developments, he will likely be able to continue his career as a boxer. With a record of 27-0 including 25 KO’s, the 28-year old American stands at a pivotal point of his career where he is entering his prime, while also participating in one of the most competitive divisions in boxing; the Lightweight divison.

His bout with Hector Luis Garcia will likely commence on January 7th next week. If he manages to score a victory against Garcia, ‘Tank’ will face longtime rival Ryan Garcia in a breakthrough match for recognition, bragging rights and legacy.
